Law Enforcement Explorer Post #137 was started in 1997 and consists of young men and women interested in Law Enforcement and Community Service. The explorer program is designed to educate and involve young men and women in Law Enforcement operations and to interest them in Law Enforcement functions whether they enter the Law Enforcement field or not. Members meet twice each month at the Tift County Law Enforcement Center and receive training in police patrol procedure, traffic enforcement, crime scene investigation, and other law enforcement procedures. Other training includes firearms instruction, building searches, and drug enforcement. The Explorer Post performs hundreds of hours in community service each year. The services provided are providing security, crowd control, traffic control, and serving as staff members at our local Boy Scout camp. Deputy Jeff Scott is in charge of the Tift County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program. |
