MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • No felony convictions under O.C.G.A 35-8-8.

  • No family violence related convictions according to O.C.G.A. 19-13-1.

  • Ability to meet current requirements set forth in the Georgia's Mandate Law Enforcement Training Act/Peace Officer's Training and Standards Act.

As a Deputy you'll be responsible for enforcing the law in the unincorporated areas of Tift County, as well as providing law enforcement services to the cities of Tifton, Omega, and Ty Ty. You'll work in cooperation with other agencies to coordinate specialized county-wide law enforcement task forces, service all  warrants, and be responsible for the fulfillment of all civil court orders.

When your application is approved you will begin our intensive training and educational programs that will take you from where you are today and help you achieve your goals. You're supported every step of the way, and given the encouragement needed to succeed.
